Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano Live Blog: Play-by-Play Results for Netflix’s Historic MMA Event

History is being made tonight in Los Angeles. Live from the Intuit Dome, MVP MMA 1 marks Netflix’s monumental first-ever live mixed martial arts broadcast, headlined by a legendary superfight years in the making: Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano. Over a decade after cementing themselves as the true foundational pioneers of women’s MMA, both icons are stepping back inside the cage to face each other in a five-round featherweight battle. But the star power doesn’t stop at the top; Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions features a chaotic welterweight co-main event between fan-favorite Nate Diaz and bare-knuckle king Mike Perry, alongside the highly anticipated return of heavy-hitting former UFC Champion Francis Ngannou against Philipe Lins. Bookmark this page and stay tuned right here to Fight Game Media as we provide live, real-time play-by-play updates, official results, and round-by-round analysis for the entire card all night long!

Robelis Despaigne Vs. Junior Dos Santos

The show is off to a lights out start. Despaigne held his hands low as if to get JDS to trade with him. JDS used big leg kicks instead, and even knocked Despaigne down with a leg kick. JDS was a little weary to trade and every time he landed punches, Despaigne didn't seem to be phased. Despaigne set up a beautiful one-two-three and JDS went out.

Winner: Robelis Despagine by 1st round KO

Kenneth Cross Vs. Salahdine Parnasse

Parnasse was all over Cross from the bell. Cross threw a body kick to start the fight and it looked like it landed, but really, Parnasse caught it and immediately started moving forward. Cross couldn't keep him off as game as he was. When they went to the feet, Parnasse was loading up and when they went to the ground, he was going from mount to getting the back and getting hooks in to back on the feet and killing him with body shots and stopping Cross.

Winner: Salahdine Parnasse by 1st round TKO

Philipe Lins Vs. Francis Ngannou

Lins had one or two moments of hope, but Ngannou dominated him. He overwhelmed him with his size and power in his hands. Lins was game and was able to take a lot of punishment and even landed a couple of right hands of his own. But Ngannou landed a left hook to end the fight in the first round.

Winner: Francis Ngannou by 1st round KO

Mike Perry Vs. Nate Diaz

Perry started the fight like a ball of fire. Diaz used his jab to try and keep him off, but Perry kept coming forward. Diaz landed a judo throw and went for a submission on the ground before they were back on their feet. Perry went to the body twice with punches and Diaz reacted poorly. Diaz started to land his left-handed jab at will which slowed Perry down. They were both bleeding by the end of the round. It was a tale of two halves, but Perry's half-round was more impressive.

The second round was reminiscent of a horror flick. Diaz started the round with blood on his face and ended the second round with his face dripping with blood and blood all the way on the back of his head. Diaz started the round great with jabs and hooks and it looked like he'd figured out the pace, but Perry's attack with punches and elbows opened Diaz up and by the end of the round, I don't think Diaz could really see. Diaz was saved by bell to end the round.

The fight was stopped in between the second and third round.

Winner: Mike Perry by 2nd round ref stoppage

Gina Carano Vs. Ronda Rousey

The fight was very reminiscent of many of Ronda's UFC fights. Ronda shot in for a takedown as Gina threw a kick. Gina had her in a guillotine while on her back. Ronda threw some punches on the ground, Gina let up and Ronda grabbed her arm for the armbar and it was over. The referee stopped the fight at about 16 seconds.

Winner: Ronda Rousey by 1st round submission
