Jon Moxley's Emotional Performance, Ospreay Survives Clockwork Carnage: AEW WrestleDream Review | The Fight Game Podcast

Garrett Gonzales and Jeremy Finestone recap AEW WrestleDream 2026 from Orlando, starting with the match that stole the show: Jon Moxley vs. Mark Davis for the Continental Championship. Mox wore a Newcastle United jersey in tribute to PAC, bled through a brutal fight with Dunkzilla, and finally choked Davis out after locking in PAC's Brutalizer, then broke down in front of the Death Riders. The guys explain why it was one of Moxley's most emotional performances in AEW.

Then it's the Young Bucks vs. Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight, a tag team classic full of near-falls and Don Callis interference that ended with the Bucks retaining the World Tag Team Championship. Garrett and Jeremy also break down the first-ever Clockwork Carnage match, where Will Ospreay held onto the AEW World Championship by pinning Adam Copeland in the closing seconds, and debate whether the format should become a regular part of AEW pay-per-views.

They also look at what's next for Ospreay, Moxley and Mercedes Moné, who retained the Women's World Championship against Thekla. Plus, the rest of the card: Hangman Page and Brodido winning the Trios Titles from Swerve Strickland and The New Level, Persephone retaining the TBS Title in a four-way, Andrade El Ídolo beating Tommaso Ciampa, Nick Wayne beating Chris Jericho, the Motor City Machine Guns taking match one of their series with FTR, and Ilja Dragunov's arrival in AEW.

0:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the fight game podcast Jeremy Feinstone and myself WG where you are going to recap AEW Russell dream and curry head is already in the chat and said sorry that's not the one [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I get to watch you back to back. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, because I have to do rustling of every radio right after Jeremy and I are done and for those on video, I'm rocking the Valkyrie stuff because the Valkyrie did win game one of the final today and yeah, so we are we are rocking in Valkyrie's land. [SPEAKER_00]: So, okay, this show. [SPEAKER_00]: I will say, when I woke up this morning, I thought about all the things that I had to do, the calories run the mind, and then I thought, oh yeah, I have to do some recaps of this paper view.

1:01 [SPEAKER_00]: And one of the things that I've kind of realized with my AEW fandom, and it's just my pro wrestling fandom in general, is that [SPEAKER_00]: These, now this isn't an AEW problem. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a both company's problem. [SPEAKER_00]: Is the amount of content that we have available makes it so that I don't really miss. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I would love to miss wrestling and then for it to be like, oh, yeah, like I can't wait to see this because it's been a while. [SPEAKER_00]: But these companies are weak in and weak out and competing and doing their best stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: And so sometimes I go, [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I just watched this really good match on Wednesday like do I do to watch more good wrestling on on a Saturday and so sometimes like I have the feeling of like I kind of take how good we have it for granted you're following New Japan very closely I watched a decent amount of their last show, which was fantastic and has me super excited for Kenny Omega coming back to New Japan.

2:08 [SPEAKER_00]: WWE on Roth, I thought they had a really strong show. [SPEAKER_00]: One of their better shows in recent memory. [SPEAKER_00]: And so by today, I was like, you know what I've seen? [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of good wrestling this week. [SPEAKER_00]: However, there was enough good stuff on this AEW show to where I was pretty confident that, okay, this show existed for a reason. [SPEAKER_00]: And we'll talk about some of those reasons as we go through our little recap here. [SPEAKER_00]: what coming off of the new Japan show because I know that you really like that show too. [SPEAKER_00]: Like there's an interesting compare and contrast to some of the things that came out of that new Japan show and what is currently going on in AEW because theoretically you could say [SPEAKER_00]: Well, the guy I'm most looking forward to in AEW is actually wrestling in New Japan right now.

2:57 [SPEAKER_00]: That being Kenny Omega. [SPEAKER_00]: Now we are on the Will Osprey train. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no MJF right now in AEW. [SPEAKER_00]: He is making sure that we miss him for when he comes back. [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, kind of comparing contrast, where were you with that New Japan show and then with this AEW show this weekend? [SPEAKER_01]: I was actually pretty similar on both of them, Garrett. [SPEAKER_01]: I went into the New Japan show, really excited, actually. [SPEAKER_01]: And when I came out of it, I was really, I thought the matches were good. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought everything was good within the show. [SPEAKER_01]: But I needed to chew on some of the decisions that they made regarding the blueprint for what they wanted to do for restful kingdom, [SPEAKER_01]: forbidden door right like it's all the former world champions of AEW seen becoming over and facing all the young up in commerce at newspan to kind of you know bring them up to that level to get them to the dad so on a bit on a big show and so [SPEAKER_01]: I came out of it just think about all the problems and everything that we had once they got past the things that like didn't sit right with me and I had to work through why some of that stuff didn't sit right with me just you know it felt like plans were being shunted for for the AEW but with New Japan the reality is it's like they need AEW for the rest of the game.

4:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, there's no getting 30,000 tickets if they don't have star power. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, the biggest match to me, the last year that they could do a wrestling kingdom in the main event is Yoda Suji versus Yuga Urey Murra, if they were to stick with their, with their, with the rocks that they have. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sorry, can you Omega versus Yoda Suji is a much bigger match, and in going to pack that building much more, and you got to do that this year, [SPEAKER_01]: in order to be able to stand on your own for your to come. [SPEAKER_01]: And I kind of looked at this AEW show with kind of a like a break in the stories that we've had and not quite ready to tell the net set of stories.

5:08 [SPEAKER_01]: So we're just kind of in the middle ground chapter break with this one. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I came in a little unendurialistic because of the restal dynasty because [SPEAKER_01]: It just felt like we had enzocted the big stories with mock-league, big and offspray, and the trio, the new level, they're in the roster now, so the the new nick of them and some of these other things. [SPEAKER_01]: And man, I came out of the show thinking it's like, man, for a show that I look at really all that jazz for, I had a great time watching the show. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there were two matches that I thought kind of stood above everything else and for much different reasons.

5:59 [SPEAKER_00]: And let's actually start off with the, uh, we'll talk about this clockwork carnage match. [SPEAKER_00]: I liked the match. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was very entertaining. [SPEAKER_00]: I still think it was like [SPEAKER_00]: maybe the third most important match on the show, something like that, let's start with the moxie match. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: The, so the story and I don't even, like, I'm, [SPEAKER_00]: I knew what the story was going in because I heard people talk about the promo that Rene and and John did on collision and Marina being kind of the key cog in this thing.

6:39 [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't watch collision and then this morning I had a few free minutes and I was like, okay, I want to watch this Jericho and Nick Wayne promo that people were talking about. [SPEAKER_00]: And then while I was looking through that, I was like, oh, yeah, I forgot about the smoxy [SPEAKER_00]: That was compelling stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Why was that on collision instead of dynamite for one? [SPEAKER_00]: And number two, it feels because of the timing of packs, sudden and tragic passing. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess they are turning what is, I'm assuming real life, [SPEAKER_00]: and John is emoting through his art, which is talk about being vulnerable on television for somebody who is like, [SPEAKER_00]: the dudes dude, right?

7:32 [SPEAKER_00]: Like the good brother, like the guy that you're like, you're not going to wall that nothing gets through. [SPEAKER_00]: You want to hang out with this dude. [SPEAKER_00]: He's just like, you feel like he could have a great conversation and you enjoy hanging out with him. [SPEAKER_00]: So for him to be this vulnerable through his art as he is grieving the passing of pack. [SPEAKER_00]: Like that is all of a sudden to me, [SPEAKER_00]: the most compelling thing on their television. [SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't even really feel the power of it until we were talking about it with Big Dave today at his house.

8:13 [SPEAKER_00]: And it made me think and look back to [SPEAKER_00]: when he went into rehab that time because I was in pretty decent communication with him during that time frame just he had the you know during the book time and you know we had done some of those podcasts and by the way I I started a publication on substact called the cool check-in and my first post is about Russell dream and it's not really about only Russell dream but [SPEAKER_00]: Russell drew him as kind of the theme to get me to remember things and to write about some stuff and as we were watching the show together I was like kind of writing at the same time and one of the one of the themes of it is is moxley and I kind of was thinking back to the times that I had him do the podcast and he blurbed me in his book and he I had early chapters of his book.

9:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And just thinking back to that time, all what he had to go through in his own scenario with rehab, coming out of that strong, using his real life to kind of power through his [SPEAKER_00]: uh heartbroken by the sudden and tragic passing of his friend. [SPEAKER_00]: It is almost hard for me to talk about this in storyline because this happened in real life. [SPEAKER_00]: And I imagine he is using this as a way to help him get through it as as Marina is telling him to, but also as a way to [SPEAKER_00]: show the locker room like to grieve with the locker room.

10:02 [SPEAKER_00]: I imagine people are using him as the example or using him for his leadership. [SPEAKER_00]: And so that made this match with Mark Davis, all of a sudden like the most important thing to me on the entire show. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know that if I realized that [SPEAKER_01]: There was something indeliable about the entire match where it felt more real, like guttural, like emotional, just kind of like, they were trying to tell a story that Malkley couldn't was scared. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it was scared, but did not have the confidence that he could be this guy and that he was shaken to the core and they never really tried to tie it to pack [SPEAKER_01]: but it was right like everything that they've done like the promo after beating will where like you have two kind of ulogies and then some of these other promos about like go out there and do your best like even when you're like even when everything is shit you go out there and you do your best because you're a professional and that's what you do.

11:16 [SPEAKER_01]: It was different than everything else on the card. [SPEAKER_01]: Because up to that point, there wasn't really any blood. [SPEAKER_01]: And there wasn't really, the stains were about winning and losing. [SPEAKER_01]: But [SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know if this is correct, but it felt like Maucle was fighting for his wrestling soul. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, that he could continue to do what he does in this ring despite all of that he's given of himself to the promotion and to others. [SPEAKER_01]: And realize he may not have anything left for himself when all said and done. [SPEAKER_01]: And you had to run out there and like you got to go through, you can't go around, you can't go under, you can't go over, you got to go through.

11:59 [SPEAKER_01]: And we've all had those moments in life where like you're walking and every step is like you're walking through mud and it's and you're just you're pulling your feet up and you're trying and then you have to go to the next step and you just you just have to keep going forward and at some point those steps even though they felt heavy you will down and you're not walking through that mud anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: but you have to go through it. [SPEAKER_01]: And there was this message throughout the thing that we've all kind of identified within our life and we either respond to it and arrive to it or we respond to it and hopefully better chances for another day.

12:40 [SPEAKER_01]: So, and matches like this that really show why Monklee is the heart and soul of this promotion. [SPEAKER_01]: There are no other people that I believe could convey the emotion that he conveys both in the internal and the external struggle. [SPEAKER_01]: He was bleeding bucket during this match and it didn't even feel like it was the most painful thing that he was going through. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I felt like the struggle that he was going through internally made the blood pale in comparison. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: That is absolutely unbelievable to have like an energy throughout the entire match in which he was struggling against himself, fighting himself to not give up, to not like fold in the face of, [SPEAKER_01]: overwhelming circumstances, you know, like Mark Davis and Doyle, like they pin-kid.

13:39 [SPEAKER_01]: They pin, like Davis pinned mockly. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't do that kind of build for anybody at the top level, where the guys just [SPEAKER_01]: the opponent just pimps him clean before they're big match. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can't think of the last time a baby takes a pin like that. [SPEAKER_01]: And then there was still a certain amount of uncertainty going in that match. [SPEAKER_01]: We were all talking about, you know, there could be a good moment from all Queen of Wies about that kind of thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, but it would have felt so unfaithful to what he was trying to espouse and what he had been working through for him to lose would have been a completely [SPEAKER_01]: totally incorrect approach to what the magic self was trying to do.

14:28 [SPEAKER_00]: I, um, when I watch wrestling these days, a lot of times, and I'm being completely honest with how I do it. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of times is just to get through the show. [SPEAKER_00]: So I know what's going on. [SPEAKER_00]: So I can talk about it. [SPEAKER_00]: It is not even to digest really what I watch. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it's just, okay, how are we getting to the next thing? [SPEAKER_00]: And when you watch a match like this, you cannot do it that way. [SPEAKER_00]: You are going to miss so much in what makes this the match.

15:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Dave asks us every time after shows over, what was the best match for us the worst match? [SPEAKER_00]: And I said, for star rating, [SPEAKER_00]: It's the tag title match and we'll talk about that next before what I love about wrestling this is it You know, and it's not going to get the same star rating. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think if I were to guess, but Like this is why I enjoy the art form so much as when people can tell stories like that [SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, we had the depenta and Roman match, which is not on the same level, but you get something out of watching that match that you may not get out of a normal wrestling match.

15:53 [SPEAKER_00]: And if you tell that story correctly, people kind of go away thinking like, man, I can't wait to see this person again. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I want to see Moxie wrestle again, like, like this week. [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to see him. [SPEAKER_00]: talk or to see him describe or to see him feel and it's it's absolutely my favorite thing about about wrestling is just kind of how people can communicate in ways with fans and and in stories that really let you know kind of what they are about and again we're talking about wrestling with the whole idea is like [SPEAKER_00]: It is is is a calming the fans, right?

16:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Like calming, making the fans think something is legit when it's not legit. [SPEAKER_00]: But in moments like this, you kind of cross that line and you go. [SPEAKER_00]: That is something that you don't see every day and I'm just that that's what I'm going to take from from this match. [SPEAKER_00]: So so going back to what I was writing about. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that piece should be out tomorrow. [SPEAKER_00]: If people are on sub-stack, find me on sub-stack. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to follow people. [SPEAKER_00]: I want, you know, I want to start communicating on there like, uh, because I'm so sick of, uh, of X and Twitter. [SPEAKER_00]: But, uh, but I'd be interested to think of that piece. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not only going to write about wrestling, I'm going to write about music and movies and sports and pop culture and any sort of thing that kind of is, is interesting to me.

17:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I think the way I wrote about Moxley may give some people a little bit of an insight about the time that I did, you know, spend doing podcasts and stuff with him, which I've talked about on different podcasts, but it just in writing it, it may feel a little bit differently. [SPEAKER_00]: But okay. [SPEAKER_00]: So to me, that was the big big deal of the show. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I got one more thing to add about that. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Look. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, we talked about mockery, but that match does not work with how Mark Davis, Mark Davis asked him. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, absolutely awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: And he is something special. [SPEAKER_01]: And I've seen him all the way back when he was in off the open, uh, back in New Japan. [SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, he injured, he injured his knee after an age pancup and he had to vacate the titles and Tony Con paid for the knee surgery and got him healthy.

18:11 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, he had a series of injuries that kind of start and stopped his career and he finally sit healthy, wrestling amazingly. [SPEAKER_01]: He is of the special. [SPEAKER_01]: He came in with Kyle Fletcher and Kyle Fletcher has obviously gotten his flowers and done everything and exceeded all expectations. [SPEAKER_01]: But keep an eye out from our Davis fan. [SPEAKER_01]: Like there's not a ceiling on him that I can see just yet, [SPEAKER_01]: He's ability to wrestle the way he wrestles and I think you and Dave kind of gave him some bruise or brody comparison. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's pretty clear that he's been studying his bruise or brody tapes.

18:54 [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have, he's like, obviously there's bruise or the chain and everything. [SPEAKER_00]: So the presentation isn't the same. [SPEAKER_00]: but the way he fights in the ring does remind me a little bit of bruised roti and uh he was the amazing I guess we should say that moxie did win with the choke. [SPEAKER_00]: he used the brutalizer in in one moment to trans which was transitional into the choke. [SPEAKER_00]: But this was a back and forth match. [SPEAKER_00]: Mox is bleeding buckets. [SPEAKER_00]: He was taken big stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: They were hitting each other hard. [SPEAKER_00]: There was a pile driver on the side of the apron to the floor that was kind of insane.

19:35 [SPEAKER_00]: I looked safe, but it looked insane at the same time. [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, it was just really, really great stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: The one knock I have about the match is that I could not identify the moment in which mockly began to fire up and gain his confidence because there was a moment in which Mark Davis was on the on the corner turned buckle and he was kind of posing and Malku was underneath him like standing kind of Dave and it was after that that Malku kind of like fired up, but it didn't really feel like a moment that you you like caught to like, oh, [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he made a mistake. [SPEAKER_01]: They're molecules going to come back. [SPEAKER_01]: You just all of a sudden start fighting. [SPEAKER_01]: And it makes him more natural that way.

20:18 [SPEAKER_01]: But with everything else, it seemed so very intentional with the way that they were doing, like, moments of the match. [SPEAKER_01]: I just felt like that one did not quite hit. [SPEAKER_01]: To get from me, I'm coming from behind now I'm firing up. [SPEAKER_00]: The other match that we should talk about, we'll talk about two more matches exclusive and then we'll go over the whole card. [SPEAKER_00]: The young bucks against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight, the young bucks won Kevin Knight came off the top rope trying to break something up and in fact hit Kyle Fletcher who then and then they hit Kevin Knight with the BTE trigger to win the match.

21:01 [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to have its detractors just because of how high spotty it was. [SPEAKER_00]: But [SPEAKER_00]: These guys, the young bucks, as well as Fletcher and Kevin Knight, the timing in which they do, all of these moves is almost too perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: It looks like we're watching stunts being laid out and performed. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's not that these guys are doing these matches in real time and hitting these moves in real time and doing these creative ways to break up pins in real time. [SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be detractors just because a lot of people do not enjoy this style of the high spots and such, but I marvel at their ability to have that kind of chemistry and I, you know, the young books have that kind of chemistry with almost everybody that they wrestle, so I'm going to lean towards giving them, you know, a lot of the credit.

22:00 [SPEAKER_00]: but just the amount of back and forth and transitions and breakups and all of those things were just incredible and they did it at a high pace and the match, I don't know how long the match was, but it wasn't a short match. [SPEAKER_00]: These guys were just going and going and going and you know, one of the flaws that I think in some of these matches and we saw it in the Andrade and Tomasso Chiampa matches. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of times I feel like they go beyond the peak and then they have to kind of get it back and then if they get it back then you're like, okay, like that worked, but sometimes they don't get it back, they did not.

22:41 [SPEAKER_00]: do anything to where I thought, okay, they should have gone home now. [SPEAKER_00]: I think they went home exactly at the perfect time and incredible matcha. [SPEAKER_00]: I think this would like I said, this will get the highest Dave Meltzer star rating. [SPEAKER_00]: Problem. [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it's gonna be a five star match. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure plus, five stars probably plus, but just incredible stuff and, you know, we were joking because we were like, what the hell's gonna be able to follow this? [SPEAKER_00]: It better not be the women, [SPEAKER_00]: And then it was the women, yeah, thankfully for the women, they had a good match themselves. [SPEAKER_00]: And I credit them for having the match that they did following this match because I was like, who can follow this thing?

23:24 [SPEAKER_01]: You don't make the young buck match even more insane. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that a month ago, match really less than a month ago. [SPEAKER_01]: They put their body through hell in a team of clutter and chairs match and then followed it up with this work rate match and even FTR in the pre show match couldn't match this pace to play like you can see them their shoulders were hurting their bodies were hurting the buck were hurting from what I To glean like that match took a lot out of them and them coming back and doing a match at this level. [SPEAKER_01]: Unbelievable just [SPEAKER_01]: they did not miss peak, you know, like their bodies, whatever, whatever they had to do to get right and be able to perform at a high level after like, people in the same match, fracture, rib, looking around for like a four-seable future, blows my mind.

24:18 [SPEAKER_01]: And there are times where I truly don't believe we appreciate the young books for everything that they do. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, time to like, kind of take a for granted, because there's always seem to be there [SPEAKER_01]: when they're gone, they're, when they're out and they're done, there will be a team that will be able to replace them. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm still waiting for these tag titles to be positioned as a main event of a show. [SPEAKER_01]: It should be, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Then being third from the, from the, the bottom is, uh, not, not so sure. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, Mercedes was second from the bottom, so the whole card was all over the place. [SPEAKER_00]: So Creehead said that Lily Dragon I was going to wrestle this week.

25:02 [SPEAKER_00]: So Lily Dragon I was the surprise that I didn't know that there was going to be a surprise. [SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, some of this is my fault because I, I don't really like wrestling Twitter that much. [SPEAKER_00]: So I try and stay away. [SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, you know, there are sometimes you, you do get stuff from AEW on Twitter. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, [SPEAKER_00]: they were, you know, the visa stuff was touching go, so they didn't know if they were going to have him on this show. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but thankfully he is here and he's, he's one of my favorite guys to watch. [SPEAKER_00]: I, I, I loved watching him in WWE. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he was under utilize in WWE. [SPEAKER_00]: He was all also often hurt in WWE, so it's not, it's not only their fault, but as long as he can stay healthy, [SPEAKER_01]: I remember his matches with Walter Gunther, whatever you want to call an NXT UK.

26:00 [SPEAKER_01]: And it just felt like when he was in WWE, it was like, they're not gonna let this guy be, who he's gonna be. [SPEAKER_01]: They'll have the veneer of letting shows like that happen, but, [SPEAKER_01]: This fit isn't going to last and it really didn't, you know, I think the last time we saw him in any significant way, it was at the Royal Rumble and kind of a moment with Brock, where it's like, oh, this doesn't feel like good for his future and it really wasn't, but now it seems like it is because he came in everyone knew who he was he got to keep his name because it was before he came in to WWE, which I personally [SPEAKER_00]: Supposedly, Shamus will also be able to keep his name if he comes to AEW.

26:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Dr. [SPEAKER_01]: Fantastic. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I don't really know what he would call him but the right. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess he was, I guess he was Shamus Oshanasey before he came to AEW. [SPEAKER_01]: So he could probably call him Oshanasey. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he was also Shamus Oshanasey in WWE, but then they quickly dropped the last name. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's all right. [SPEAKER_01]: Who do you think you owe your faces on one day? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you guys were booking his, uh, his, uh, next paper, his paper view match. [SPEAKER_00]: What do you think? [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't really paying attention to what his paper view match would be in all honesty. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know if you're like, oh, that's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't pay for the paper view.

27:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Ah, Darby, maybe. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you guys were talking about TNT title, possibly. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that could have was. [SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't remember what it was. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, we thought, like, if you weren't having title match, Darby would be a good match for him to have. [SPEAKER_01]: Darby, Darby would be hard-hitting and insane in a way that, like, you would realize that Ilia would be a fantastic fit. [SPEAKER_01]: And now, I'll give that thought for another time. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm, [SPEAKER_01]: I'm really looking forward to what I can do and I feel like he is a shot in the arm for the promotion that they didn't need, but they will benefit from nonetheless. [SPEAKER_00]: When people like him come in, somebody will take a back seat or go down the ladder a little bit because you can't just keep pushing everybody.

28:12 [SPEAKER_00]: there will be injuries as well that that you know will happen so you know that that may even handle itself but I don't know that he is a world title contender but he's you know he's right underneath that and I think he he's unique and he is very violent and I think he's uh he's gonna as long as he stays healthy because that's the thing yeah he's gonna do some good [SPEAKER_01]: his potential is a and a phrase that we hear in fantasy football. [SPEAKER_01]: There are a wide range of outcomes, regardless, he could he could be a world champion one day, or he could just be another guy on the roster.

28:56 [SPEAKER_01]: I would lean towards the former rather than the latter, but [SPEAKER_00]: Will Osprey vs. Canoska to cash it over vs. Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Rickish vs. Darby Allin vs. Kazuchko kind of vs. that in Copeland vs. Samoa Joe in the Clockwork Carnage match. [SPEAKER_00]: Will Osprey and to cash it out where the first two guys in, speedball, Bailey came in. [SPEAKER_00]: What was it three minutes? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, three minutes. [SPEAKER_01]: They were tracking good for the first few and then they they budget the numbers. [SPEAKER_01]: But ended up getting 18, but 18 when they got also eight guys in there.

29:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Speedball was next. [SPEAKER_00]: Then it was ricochet. [SPEAKER_00]: And then it was Darby and then Ocada. [SPEAKER_00]: At this point, we still had two guys left to come in, and that was Copeland and Samoa Joe. [SPEAKER_00]: And right smack dab before Adam Copeland comes in, speedball Mike Bailey gets eliminated by it was it Takeshta. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's to. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, to catch the blue thunder bomb, I'll try to revenge like because it got to a point where all of a sudden there were like flash pin and trying to make sure that you got the right person with the right pin.

30:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I just want to make sure I got it right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, a blue thunder bomb. [SPEAKER_00]: So then Copeland comes in to cash it out goes after Copeland. [SPEAKER_00]: Copeland goes for a spear. [SPEAKER_00]: And then Takeshita hits him with the blue thunder bomb. [SPEAKER_00]: Okada saves Copeland, hits Takeshita with a rainmaker, and eliminates Takeshita before the final guy gets in. [SPEAKER_00]: So Bailey and Takeshita eliminated in the match because they didn't make it until all the men were in the ring. [SPEAKER_00]: And to Okada's smiling at this point, [SPEAKER_00]: uh... smojo is the final guy and then we get a rash of pins smojo hits the muscle buster on darby he gets the the pin and so he's got one point then ricochet pins darby as well uh... he gets one point and then uh... ocata hits the rainmaker [SPEAKER_00]: Fast forward a little bit, uh, Ospreay, um, hits the style's clash on Ricochet, so he he gets all the board.

31:37 [SPEAKER_00]: And then Darby Allen with the coffin dropping pins will Ospreay. [SPEAKER_00]: The champion pins the champion to earn his one point. [SPEAKER_00]: And at this point, you and I were like, oh, I guess Darby's getting a future title shot here. [SPEAKER_00]: And then Osper was like, let's see. [SPEAKER_00]: So Darby Allen gets a flash pin on Adam Copeland. [SPEAKER_00]: So he gets two. [SPEAKER_00]: And then Osper, hits him with the hidden blade and pins Darby. [SPEAKER_00]: So they trade pins. [SPEAKER_00]: So now we don't know if Darby will get his title match here. [SPEAKER_00]: So [SPEAKER_00]: Osprey taps out to, do you tap out to Smojo to the cookie to clutch?

32:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, taps out. [SPEAKER_00]: So Smojo's at two. [SPEAKER_00]: And then Copeland hits a spear on Smojo. [SPEAKER_00]: So he finally gets his one point. [SPEAKER_00]: And we are like, I think less than three minutes left in this match before Copeland finally gets on the board. [SPEAKER_00]: Ricochet hits a springboard and he's in and and Copeland spears him out of the air. [SPEAKER_00]: So all of a sudden he gets back to back pins and he's got two points. [SPEAKER_00]: So now tons of guys have two points. [SPEAKER_00]: The only person who didn't have two points was Ricochet, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he he was dragging.

33:05 [SPEAKER_00]: So Copeland goes after Osprey, Osprey gets a cradle for two. [SPEAKER_00]: That was a great, a great false finish. [SPEAKER_00]: Backslide, kick, and then he's about to hit the wood at Hidden Blade. [SPEAKER_00]: He misses, Copeland hits an impaler. [SPEAKER_00]: Then 60 seconds left. [SPEAKER_00]: He charges at Osprey and Ocada hits the drop kick. [SPEAKER_00]: Copeland ducks the rainmaker, hits a spear on Ocada. [SPEAKER_00]: one count. [SPEAKER_00]: Two count. [SPEAKER_00]: Osprey hits him with the hidden blade as he's covering Ocada. [SPEAKER_00]: And he pins Adam Copeland with only a few seconds left to win the match because he had three pins to everybody else's two pin except for I guess Rick share.

33:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Ocada only had one pin, one point as well. [SPEAKER_00]: So that was the match. [SPEAKER_00]: And I guess, you know, we knew that this was going to be a scenario where there was going to be a lot of flash pins. [SPEAKER_00]: And I guess the psychology in that is you have your your head is on a swivel. [SPEAKER_00]: So you're kind of looking for everybody and you're going to get hit with something out of thin air. [SPEAKER_00]: But in other matches, sometimes it takes two and three and four finisher's to pin somebody. [SPEAKER_00]: So there could be the argument there. [SPEAKER_00]: I get it. [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't say. [SPEAKER_00]: I was delighted in this match. [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't say that this was like, oh my gosh, what a great innovation.

34:38 [SPEAKER_00]: We see a similar match in NXT every year with the Iron Survivor match. [SPEAKER_00]: That one has the penalty box. [SPEAKER_00]: This one doesn't have a penalty box. [SPEAKER_00]: Still fun. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I do it the world title again. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you do it with a different title, or you do it for a time or... [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're in a more in-contender shot, however you want to do it, I think you can still do it on like similarly to how they do the casino gauntlet matches and such. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure this is going to be a yearly Royal Rumble type match for AEW though. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're like in a elimination chamber kind of matching all honesty, you know, it's something that like that level of then I do think that's the concept of the way I think [SPEAKER_01]: They introduced enough and exposed you to enough in this match where you could do things a little bit differently the next time and the time after that if they do make it an annual tradition where you can start introducing.

35:38 [SPEAKER_01]: things that kind of veer from what we saw in this match, eventually you could maybe do a women's match the same version, you know, this is not just, it's not just the men's match, as far as I remember, like the concept that they showed on the promo is actually from a women's match. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's just pro wrestling eve, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: Of course, it's established from and I think this is something that they're going to come back to in the future and if it's not a world title shot it should or not to win the world title it should be for a world title shot you have a guy like fighting for it and [SPEAKER_01]: It's not the continental cup, it's not the continental classic, but it is a way in which a bunch of guys can storyline fight their way for a chance at the champion before one of the big paper views.

36:29 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's go back to the beginning. [SPEAKER_00]: Sure. [SPEAKER_00]: I missed all of the, I missed all of the pre show or the whatever they call their their pre show. [SPEAKER_00]: and I also missed the opener because technically the last pre show match ended up being the opener of the go, which was FTR against voter city machine gun, but how much of the pre show did you see? [SPEAKER_01]: I can't all of it actually. [SPEAKER_01]: I saw the first match, I came in halfway through that one which was divine dominion, defeated the sutras of sin and [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a sin or better as baby faces. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what else to tell you other than that's worked.

37:10 [SPEAKER_01]: It was perfectly crumbulant as Jeff Opekin looks at Jeff Opekin. [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing wrong with it and a lot of it had to do with the fact that it's just a sin or just not good heels. [SPEAKER_01]: The next match we had, uh, don't count a family of Jake Doyle, Josh Alexander and Wardlow, and they defeated a bunch of genres named Alex Breeze, Papy D and Reef Matter. [SPEAKER_01]: It, uh, with two minutes and forty-six seconds, uh, nothing, nothing to match. [SPEAKER_01]: next match. [SPEAKER_01]: What's about that I'm trying to think of five on five, but if we found out halfway through, it became a six on six 12 man tag. [SPEAKER_01]: We had the dogs of Quark Conner and David Simley in the Death Riders.

37:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Claudio, Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kid and we were you to against the Bang Bang gang, which was Austin Gunne, Coleman Gunne, and a surprise J. [SPEAKER_01]: White was not out two months. [SPEAKER_01]: He was queer to apparently today of all things and was just a last [SPEAKER_01]: he joined Kyle Riley or Cassidy and Rodderick Strong, and they lost that match. [SPEAKER_01]: So, glad Jay White is not hurt for another month, but he was hurt for two or three weeks, and apparently he's, he's doing okay. [SPEAKER_01]: He seemed fine in the hunt. [SPEAKER_01]: And then with about 12 minute left, all in the pre-show, they started the motor city machine gun patch with FTR, and it was not much of a match until they started it on the main show Garrett, and I'll leave it [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.

38:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: So for Jay White, yeah, I'm about somebody with just bad luck and bad timing because he was supposed to be in the clockwork match. [SPEAKER_00]: And because they did qualifying matches to get into the clockwork match, he was not ready for that. [SPEAKER_00]: But was ready on the paper view day. [SPEAKER_00]: So just unfortunate timing for him, but at least glad that he wasn't hurt for too long. [SPEAKER_01]: Like a year where he's just wrestling and he's not missing time and he's not missing any any more time than anyone else due to like a harsh match or anything like that he is unfortunately just that's staked it by the [SPEAKER_01]: the weirdest thing like who do a hardcore match and then he's out for a little while and he gets clear to come back and does another like weird hardcore match and he's out for while and it's such a weird pattern because it's never been like this with him and his career other outside of when he came to AEW.

39:38 [SPEAKER_00]: So can we put him in regular matches and not hardcore matches then yeah I don't or chain matches or whatever that one match where he had to not get [SPEAKER_01]: watching him go back to New Japan for for a run for rest of the kingdom and he perfectly healthy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's talk about the opener. [SPEAKER_00]: So FTR and the motor city machine guns. [SPEAKER_00]: So the machine guns won the match. [SPEAKER_01]: They did. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, like I said, the 27 minutes. [SPEAKER_01]: It was, uh, it was like it had a 30 minute time on it. [SPEAKER_01]: So they were definitely teasing the draw. [SPEAKER_01]: And Dave was thinking that if they [SPEAKER_01]: clever in terms of the bill and I'm like, it's not clever.

40:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Don't do a draw in a best of five. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Have a winner and a loser in each match. [SPEAKER_00]: Then you can go two and two. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I mean, the idea behind the best of five is if you have motor city machine when the first one and you have them when the fourth one, then FTR, if they had made it at best for three, they would have won the second and third and this whole thing would have been over. [SPEAKER_01]: You still have FTR two to one going into the last two matches. [SPEAKER_01]: So motor city machine coming from behind on the fourth and potentially winning the fifth just seems like this blueprint, but in order for that to happen, you really kind of have to do motor city machine [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, they got signed two months ago, three months ago, they disappeared.

41:04 [SPEAKER_01]: They showed up at all into to show that they were part of this burgeoning tag division. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is the first match they've really had since then. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm glad that they're getting five matches with FTR to really show everyone what they got. [SPEAKER_01]: And they came out of the gate was a fantastic. [SPEAKER_01]: like match and boy were all those guys tired FTR was looked like they were hurting like crazy and saving a look like he hadn't wrestled at 25 minute match and God knows how long but they pulled it out and I don't know I thought it was pretty good but it all said and done. [SPEAKER_00]: So the match that I that I made my way to the to Dave's place was Mercedes Monet and Tecla [SPEAKER_00]: And then when I saw that it was kind of like opening the show or technically second, I was like, um, that probably means that they are not going to have the ultimate version of the match that they're going to be able to have.

42:06 [SPEAKER_00]: And Mercedes won, um, you know, it was, it was, [SPEAKER_00]: competitive. [SPEAKER_00]: It was good. [SPEAKER_00]: Mercedes took off her mask. [SPEAKER_00]: Tecla came over and Mercedes backhanded or reverse hit her with the with the mask in the face. [SPEAKER_00]: And at this very moment. [SPEAKER_00]: as techless coming over to where Mercedes was on the outside you would think the referee was going hmm Mercedes outside techless going to the outside. [SPEAKER_00]: I need to pay attention to that. [SPEAKER_00]: Nope, this referee decided to look into the opposite corner and just look out into the crowd. [SPEAKER_00]: He was like, hey, what are y'all doing?

42:47 [SPEAKER_00]: that that is pro wrestling. [SPEAKER_01]: That's where the action is on the ring. [SPEAKER_01]: That's where you need to have guys. [SPEAKER_00]: They turned it into a near fall for Teclo, though, which was cool. [SPEAKER_00]: And then Mercedes hit her, her finisher, the the Monet, the Monet maker to win the food to win the match. [SPEAKER_00]: So it was good, though I was like, I know we're not going to get that like great, great match from them in this match. [SPEAKER_01]: I tend to breath a little bit, given New Japan, all you think is to put a woman's match on the second, women's title match on the second match of the card on their big shows.

43:29 [SPEAKER_01]: And so I kind of have these like flashbacks, the start of matches on a New Japan show. [SPEAKER_01]: David is their better, but given the fact that there was so much heavy storyline in the back end, it would have been forgotten and they had a better chance of keeping an impression on people. [SPEAKER_01]: Like going early, I don't love it. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a weird layout to the whole match card, but not the best match on the card, not the worst match on the card, it was simply there. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: With those two, I kind of expected to be more than simply there. [SPEAKER_01]: And we think they wrote off the math for Mercedes, which seems like she's healthy and can wrestle without that.

44:11 [SPEAKER_01]: For that, I guess that's good. [SPEAKER_01]: But I will say, Tacua definitely had Dubufe's on her on, when the camera was not her before the match started. [SPEAKER_01]: So kind of gave that one away. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess Mercedes, at the presser, said that her nose is actually still broken and she's still recovering from the surgery. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, she's really have to wrestle anytime soon. [SPEAKER_01]: So like she can she could gain that sympathy and then wrestle in like three weeks and maybe she'll be more along the way. [SPEAKER_00]: Just, I mean, getting through a match with a broken nose and having to breathe and do all the normal. [SPEAKER_01]: He's tough as nails, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, don't ever doubt what Mercedes, the pain's retro to that woman, like unbelievable.

44:59 [SPEAKER_00]: We had Nick Wayne and Chris Jericho. [SPEAKER_01]: love the match. [SPEAKER_00]: This was a lot of fun. [SPEAKER_00]: I think you even said maybe your favorite Jericho match of his current run has hit a while. [SPEAKER_01]: Like at least from around the time of the learning tree, like anything from the learning tree on this is by far the best Jericho match I think I'll [SPEAKER_00]: So very similar moment to where Mercedes took off her mask and Tecla came and leaned over, Nick Wayne went to the outside. [SPEAKER_00]: And after they had already had a really good match, she went to the outside. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a bottle of water, at least what we think is water, underneath the ring.

45:41 [SPEAKER_00]: He starts to drink it, and then he keeps some of it in his mouth, and Jericho leans over, and he sprays water in Jericho's eyes. [UNKNOWN]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: Water in the eyes. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jericho takes a shower every day. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm assuming get water in the eyes. [SPEAKER_00]: I made a mental note that it will thought of and that is that is what some thought to, but the way that he gulp down that water with the first drink, he know he would have no soul to the burn going down his throat in like shooting vodka. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, he's 21 at the same point Jericho should probably be no going vodka in a fake tube.

46:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: So I didn't like that part of the match, but uh, so the whole thing is about Nick Wayne using the kick to the balls as a way to get over Jericho to outsmart Jericho. [SPEAKER_00]: So in this match, [SPEAKER_00]: uh Nick hits the Wayne's world as Jericho was sitting on the top rope. [SPEAKER_00]: He only gets one count. [SPEAKER_00]: Chris Jericho fired up like he was Kenny Omega at one and the crowd just went nuts for this. [SPEAKER_00]: I almost I was like we're seeing this too much and this is technically the third match on the show.

47:12 [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, I'm not buying it. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the crowd goes nuts and I was like, okay, I'm going to shut up. [SPEAKER_00]: It absolutely worked in this moment. [SPEAKER_00]: So Jericho puts him in the walls, catapult him into the corner, hits him with a German suplex, bridges for the pin, Nick kicks out. [SPEAKER_00]: Nick grabs a Bryce Remsburg. [SPEAKER_00]: Bryce does the whole overacting gimmick of like, oh, like, what am I supposed to do here and does that whole thing? [SPEAKER_00]: Turns around and Nick does the meal kick to Jericho. [SPEAKER_00]: Jericho no sells. [SPEAKER_00]: Nick kicks him low again. [SPEAKER_00]: Jericho no sells. [SPEAKER_00]: And he pulls a cup out. [SPEAKER_00]: Now I will say, someone who wore a cup for many, many, many years, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's not a bowl of proof that.

48:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there can still be some problems there. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm not Superman if I take a ground ball to the groin with help on. [SPEAKER_00]: So Jericho no sells it uses the cup starts beating up Nick with the cup. [SPEAKER_00]: And he then kicks Nick low and Nick sold the kick to the balls. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe better than anybody I've ever seen. [SPEAKER_00]: But [SPEAKER_00]: While he is hurting and in pain, he's small package Jericho to win the match and you know Jericho tried to cheat, he tried to outsmart the youngster and the youngster pulled out a wrestling move to beat Chris Jericho.

48:42 [SPEAKER_01]: loved it. [SPEAKER_01]: Jericho walked that match and Nick Wayne benefited from it, and they can move forward from that. [SPEAKER_01]: But if they had gone too heavy with the Nick Wayne win, the audience would not have bought it. [SPEAKER_01]: This totally worked for me in terms of like a completely believable scenario in which Jericho lost without losing face. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Like it was just so typically Jericho that [SPEAKER_01]: Afterward, he, uh, Nick Wayne got on the microphone and talked to a little bit of trash.

49:29 [SPEAKER_01]: And then we got the most amazing, Tepet Firework display that I have ever seen. [SPEAKER_01]: We had four fireworks just go up straight into the air and do a little sparkle. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was done. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: That is perfect, perfect fireworks for Nickel. [SPEAKER_00]: We talked about the young bucks match and then the women a four-way had to follow this. [SPEAKER_00]: Percephane versus Queen Ammonaut versus high-end versus Danny Luna. [SPEAKER_00]: This match was pretty darn good, I would say. [SPEAKER_00]: There was lots of normal four-way spots. [SPEAKER_00]: breaking up pins and all of that.

50:12 [SPEAKER_00]: But I still thought that most of the stuff that they did was good. [SPEAKER_00]: I think having Persephone win clean in the end because of all of the breaking up of pins, the fans didn't really buy that as a victory. [SPEAKER_00]: I think she just had a moon salt honor to win the match. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the finish this match is over after every other penitemp seemingly was getting broken up. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought, um, I thought high-end was pretty good. [SPEAKER_00]: I know a lot of people were like, oh, you know, I made on Danny Luna. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it was just I'm maybe I'm not as impressed with her as others.

50:53 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought she was kind of the weakest part of the match, but I'm also a giant queen. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a not a fan. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought Hayen was good and of course Persephone is absolutely coming into her own, but good match and I commend them for following that young bucks match. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought they were going to be dead in the water and the crowd wasn't super duper fired up for it, but they respected the effort at the end for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so this and I think the Nick Wayne match were two matches that because the carnage clockwork match have so many top stars in it, they had a room on the map on the card to put people on there that they normally wouldn't.

51:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Danny Luna and Hayen and Queen Aminana. [SPEAKER_01]: God bless them. [SPEAKER_01]: They are not paper view mainstay for AEW and Aminata is really the only one of those that has had like paper view experience. [SPEAKER_01]: With that said, I'm not sold on Danny Luna and I'm not sold on Hayen, but [SPEAKER_01]: They didn't do anything to make me and lose confidence in them, but they're gonna need more matches like this for the audience to get behind them and believe that they are viable women star for the promotion. [SPEAKER_01]: because we have been at gifting off the same handful of women throughout the card and getting new women reps and putting them in there and, you know, investing in having a roster of 20 to 30 women at a time is a good thing.

52:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I know we have 150 men, but better than having 12 women that you cycle through. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think we had a, a 10 women on this card, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: That, in the past, that would not be the case, and given that we have an opportunity to spread the wealth with, like I said, all the people at the top of the card, I'm glad they got the opportunity, and I'm glad that they had seen an expectation when they did. [SPEAKER_00]: Next match was on DroughtAversus Tumaso Chiampa. [SPEAKER_00]: This was a long match.

53:20 [SPEAKER_00]: They did some really kind of fun crowd stuff stuff that was directly for the live crowd. [SPEAKER_00]: Andraude, of course, was teasing the taking off his pants and shampoo decided to also tease taking off his pants. [SPEAKER_00]: And when he did it the first time, I was like, brother, what do you go strip naked? [SPEAKER_00]: What's going on here? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, why are you teasing it? [SPEAKER_00]: But what he actually had was some smaller trunks underneath his wrestling trunks. [SPEAKER_00]: And on the back, on the rear end, part of his trunks, it said, I just know because on on draw days, trunks, they say, how you know.

54:07 [SPEAKER_00]: So there was a little bit of play there on draw day, went into the crowd to take the photo, Chiampa went into the crowd to take the photo with his wife and daughter. [SPEAKER_00]: Chiampa decided to have a wrestling match with [SPEAKER_00]: I was just like, what? [SPEAKER_00]: And also, you know, the other part of this match is I thought for the first half of this match was actually pretty good, but then they just kept going and going and going and I thought it got not good after that, but the finish was. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, Cheyampa brings in the national title. [SPEAKER_00]: He starts arguing with Aubrey throws it down.

54:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, he then goes and gets a chair, gets caught with a chair. [SPEAKER_00]: She takes away the chair. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, on Droughtay hits, um, I don't remember the move is called, but he, DDT or whatever, on Cheyampa onto the title. [SPEAKER_00]: So Cheyampa, uh, kind of was the cause of his own, um, [SPEAKER_01]: But he did buy a home petard. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he was a cause of his own loss because then he gets got hit with the DM and that was the match. [SPEAKER_00]: So on dry day beat, Chiappa, I think what's interesting about this match is, you know, I think Chiappa sometimes can be a little bit one note with how aggressive and chaotic and psycho he is.

55:27 [SPEAKER_00]: He did show some personality in this match. [SPEAKER_00]: I just thought it kind of took away from the match rather than [SPEAKER_00]: showcases charisma in a way that may be other people may feel differently like meant that maybe folks may have enjoyed it. [SPEAKER_00]: I know in our discord they kept saying like, oh, this is PWG Chiampa or whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: So to me, I just I liked the version of the match that they were doing and had they gone out at 13 minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: I would have thought this match was really good. [SPEAKER_00]: At 20, I would have probably docked like almost a full star from what I saw. [SPEAKER_01]: It seemed like they're not going to have another match with each other for the foreseeable future because they got all of their shit in, you know, like that's basically the point of this match was, you know, Tom also got his daughter in on it, you know, they did the title bumps and they did the pants and all these different ideas they had.

56:22 [SPEAKER_01]: And it took it for being a really good competitive match, almost a comedy match in a couple of ways. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, an entertaining match, maybe not a comedy match, but I imagine what you're laughing and spiling and enjoying yourself rather than, you know, some of the matches that Tom also has been pretty hard hitting in brutal, the match he had with, you know, caught in a couple of the others. [SPEAKER_01]: This didn't really feel like that that felt like they like totally was a little more light-hearted and given what some of the other matches aren't I get it, but [SPEAKER_01]: I really liked it, but I think they have a better match in with you take away the Gaga. [SPEAKER_00]: I would have really thought, yes, a lot about it, but maybe some people liked the Gaga. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they needed a break from the other match match match match match match match match match and maybe they needed a little bit of the kind of entertaining match match match match match match match match match and maybe they needed a little bit of the kind of entertaining match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match match [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?

57:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you don't have to do all of this and, you know, do more of a straight match through this part of it. [SPEAKER_01]: And what about that? [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't about it, but I just go a little bit too comedy for me. [SPEAKER_00]: So our Strickland and the new level versus the good the bad and El Guapo Brody King Bandito and Hangman, two out of three falls for the trio's title, [SPEAKER_00]: surprising finisher as bandito pinned swerve in the third fall to win the title for the titles for the the contenders here.

58:09 [SPEAKER_00]: The first fall was coffee pin bandito. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, was it Kofi? [SPEAKER_00]: No, it was creed. [SPEAKER_00]: Was it? [SPEAKER_00]: No, Kofi. [SPEAKER_00]: Kofi hit the, they did a double team in Kofi got the pen. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, right, Kofi. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they hit the midnight hour. [SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's a hit. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's a pin bandido. [SPEAKER_00]: So they got fall number one. [SPEAKER_00]: The, [SPEAKER_00]: Bandito and folks got fall number two. [SPEAKER_00]: They pinned Creed with the 450 splash, the monkey flip into the 450. [SPEAKER_00]: There was lots of crazy stuff that they were teasing, and then they also hit some crazy stuff.

58:54 [SPEAKER_00]: They were teasing. [SPEAKER_00]: a triple team maneuver on the outside where I think the idea was for hangman to do his running backwards flip, back flip thing dive on I don't remember who it was, which would have then splashed right into Bandito's knees like they were teasing that, but Swerve stopped [SPEAKER_00]: Suplex the the new level on the top rope didn't get it. [SPEAKER_00]: Then Bandito did his double blockbuster backflip slam from the top rope and he completed that and Porcoffy Kingston Take everything on his sternum and his gut and I was rush.

59:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_00]: These guys are crazy for taking this kind of stuff so the finish was [SPEAKER_00]: uh... strickland uh... hits brooding with a vertebraker bandito flies in with the poison rana goes to the top and gets that that move that we just talked about then strickland uh... it goes for uh... did he go for the twenty one plex on bandito [SPEAKER_01]: No, he was going to do his driver on him and Bandito flipped it into the small package.

1:00:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it goes for the big pressure and Dito rolls out and gets the, uh, gets the pin and, and they regain the titles and they did the stare down in the middle of the ring after the match. [SPEAKER_00]: They stared at each other. [SPEAKER_00]: Swarve had the title, he was a handed to the hangman. [SPEAKER_00]: The hangman did not trust that he was going to do so. [SPEAKER_00]: He stayed on the alert. [SPEAKER_00]: And as Swerve started to move his hand with the title to hangman, hangman moved his hand too.

1:01:09 [SPEAKER_00]: And then Swerve dropped the title. [SPEAKER_00]: So hangman had to pick it up at his feet. [SPEAKER_00]: A hangman dropped a MF bomb on him. [SPEAKER_00]: The camera's caught that. [SPEAKER_00]: And, and yes, so you have a new champions there. [SPEAKER_01]: It blows my mind that [SPEAKER_01]: The outline story of this was the rivalry between the new levels were and, you know, the good, the bad and guapo. [SPEAKER_01]: But if you really look at the nuts and bolts of this whole thing, [SPEAKER_01]: This was all about Tony Kong getting Ben Dito over from the point that Kofi and Ben Dito had a match last week in Ben Dito win over. [SPEAKER_01]: Kofi got his win back on the first pin here, but then it was all Ben Dito getting all the win for his team and winning those titles for him.

1:01:56 [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, Hangman had some moments. [SPEAKER_01]: Brody King had some moments. [SPEAKER_01]: but Ben Dito had all of them all. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Tony Con made this Ben Dito's night. [SPEAKER_01]: And even afterwards, you could watch, like Ben Dito's the one in the center of all three of them. [SPEAKER_01]: Hangman Page of doing everything you can to just point at this guy, like, no, he used to start a night, he used to, he used the star, like, and give this guy a fart. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you watch a match, like, guy was amazing, you know, Brody King couldn't do a power move. [SPEAKER_01]: Ben Dito came up and did it instead of, [SPEAKER_01]: find a luchador that Tony Collins is much like San Diego because when Benito came in, he would ring of honor and he had the wrist injury and he would out for a while, but Tony got never lost confidence in this guy and now he's now he's in the roster and he is just he's climbing up and up and up and getting wind.

1:02:53 [SPEAKER_01]: He he lost his [SPEAKER_01]: And he finally got the pin against Werv and one title to get him. [SPEAKER_01]: And even Werv was like the fuck man, like what? [SPEAKER_01]: Like the look on his face, like I can't believe that just happened. [SPEAKER_01]: And it got bendy to over even more. [SPEAKER_01]: And for that reason, I just thought this match was fantastic. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we talked about the moxsey match already. [SPEAKER_00]: We talked about the Clockwork Carnage match already. [SPEAKER_00]: So where do you think we're going with Osprey in the world title here? [SPEAKER_01]: Mojo, probably the next Challenger, whether it's a TV match or [SPEAKER_01]: The full-gear match, I kind of think it should be the full-gear match with Samoa Joe, because he's won the title at times where people don't expect you to win the title, so he's very much at threat for people to think that he could win the title at any point and shorten this off-spray run.

1:03:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that's going to be the case by and long-danding theory that off-spray is going to be all the former world champions in this run, that to really cement himself as [SPEAKER_01]: Smogio next man up and Smogio if getting older, he's a great threat, but in no way shape or form should he be going over well, sprays to the point. [SPEAKER_00]: I love Samoa Joe. [SPEAKER_00]: I've loved Samoa Joe for some almost, probably about 20 years now. [SPEAKER_00]: And I do not want to see him in the main event of a pay per view, only because we've seen the match will one in the in the on-cup.

1:04:30 [SPEAKER_00]: I think the fans understand now that Somo Joe's not going to beat Will Osprey. [SPEAKER_00]: Even though he did have a couple of surprise title wins, I don't think the fans are going to buy it as a paper view made of it. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, TV match? [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's actually too big for a TV match, so I'm leaning towards what you are saying for full gear. [SPEAKER_00]: I would, [SPEAKER_00]: wonder about the paper v-bies on that show though they but they must if they have like some really great stuff underneath then you can probably do it because it's going to be a dynamite wrestling match but if that match has to be the draw for the show I'm not so sure that's way to go do you put a couple of content or clock matches on there [SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember, do they usually start that in November?

1:05:18 [SPEAKER_01]: I think they did, they do the, they do the, they do the drugs and all that stuff around they're just giving it. [SPEAKER_01]: So it might be right after, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did, because they did the account on a class if they kicked that off at, at the paperview and then finished off at the other paperview. [SPEAKER_01]: So wouldn't be surprised. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they've got it there. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, [SPEAKER_01]: 12 entrants or whatever, they might even have more entrants. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you never know that for often really stacked right now, there's a lot of people that they probably consider 16 man continental classic. [SPEAKER_01]: Be a lot of matches to get through. [SPEAKER_01]: I can see eight, I can see eight eight. [SPEAKER_00]: If they, they would have to start it even earlier, probably, right?

1:06:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they would do have to have no injury than eight weeks of programming to get it done. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, what about Mercedes, who's next from Mercedes, you think? [SPEAKER_01]: I thought about bringing somebody in from Japan. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think Tony was asked about Kyrie saying on the call tonight. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, wouldn't be deprived if they kick the tires on her, but maybe, [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe she's got other places that she wants to work on and work with instead, so who knows how that's going to play out. [SPEAKER_01]: I did kind of think that because CMLL's got a big month of November, the maybe somebody from CMLL come and challenge us her, but I don't really know who that could be.

1:06:47 [SPEAKER_01]: But it doesn't feel like if he did anybody up on the women's roster to really give her a viable opponent that feels like his actually illegitimate contenter. [SPEAKER_01]: to early. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I think you need to have her win a couple matches and like have a scenario which she fights her way to get back to or say to you rather than just a match that's the next paper view. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm trying to think who there's a talenter. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: But they're going to be in the tag team match with the because Jamie Hader was injured. [SPEAKER_00]: I think [SPEAKER_01]: Kind of at a loss to think that who I'd be the next challenger.

1:07:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, me too. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure, you know, maybe yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Mercedes has got to wrestle somebody. [SPEAKER_00]: She's also gone through a lot of people. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's also what makes it hard. [SPEAKER_00]: When you don't have that giant of a roster for an end up, you know, for an endos at Marina, I think that that'd be very interesting for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: What do you think happens with Moxley next? [SPEAKER_01]: Blood and gut. [SPEAKER_00]: So whatever they're doing for blood and gut. [SPEAKER_01]: Don Callos family versus the deathwriters of blood and gut. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that's why we learned you took out the pin on the dogs.

1:08:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, just up his. [SPEAKER_00]: And not the dogs. [SPEAKER_00]: Who did he beat? [SPEAKER_00]: Did he beat someone for the bang bang gang? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, he got it on the gun. [SPEAKER_01]: One of the gun brothers. [SPEAKER_00]: OK, so the next time you and I do this is probably full gear, [SPEAKER_01]: Full gear survivor theory, would you ever want to come first? [SPEAKER_00]: I think I think Kila and Scott are going to try and do survivor series. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're going to come back for that recap show. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's it, Lynn. [SPEAKER_01]: Love it. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's time for me to stay up late. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, that show will end at 630 or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't know what time I go to bed.

1:08:56 [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so you and I are going to actually be back soon with another brought one of him's pile drivers because we are, we didn't, we're going to talk about Street Fighter. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, don't figure it out. [SPEAKER_01]: What in cock are we? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go see that to him, but it will be watched before we reconvene next week. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm shooting for tomorrow. [SPEAKER_00]: That's true. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to try and take big Dave on us and David that no fun thought through it. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll leave it at that. [SPEAKER_00]: The reviews from the critics are predictably not good, but it seems like the fans would like to move. [SPEAKER_01]: So that- Yeah, I was like, yeah, critics aren't gonna get this one.

1:09:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, just throw that one out right away. [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, there's a lot of movies that you're just, you're gonna go see it. [SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna be like, that movie made no sense, but I had a great time, and that's what this movie should be, I think. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so we'll be back at some point in the near near future with popcorn and pile drivers and then also with the full gear recap. [SPEAKER_00]: So, all right, that is it from here. [SPEAKER_00]: For Jeremy, I am WG, we will see you when we see you. [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks to Fernando and Curryhead for hanging out with us. [SPEAKER_00]: We will see when we see you peace out.
